Lovely idea. Will Bird Sleuth be coming to Jamaica. I have 5 different kinds of bird that visit me daily for food. Pigeons, brown doves, crows, some tiny brown birds (I don’t know their name) and humming birds. The humming birds are the most beautiful. The tiny brown birds hardly comes any more because they are afraid of the crows. When the food I put outside is done they come inside on my verandah or inside and call me in their own language. The pigeons tap on my mail box if I don’t wake up early enough to feed them. My husband feeds them early in the morning. I also have P-dove cooing in my breadfruit tree early in the morning.

  2. Dear Annelise, It’s wonderful to hear about the different birds in your yard! And so nice that you provide them with some food too! (and don’t forget water). The BirdSleuth Caribbean program is in Jamaica and thankfully we have an excellent partner there. National Environment and Planning Agency has been leading teacher training workshops for the last several years in different parishes, and they also use the BirdSleuth activities in their work with schoolchildren and local communities.
